Oh! It's Max!

I’m sure you can tell I’ve been a bit inspired by drag queens recently. I started watching Drag Race a couple months ago and I’m already nearing the end of my second watch-through.
Drag Race has really been a kick in the ass for me. It’s so thrilling to watch people that have come from rough childhoods and bad beginnings being true to who they are, having fun, expressing themselves through artistry and fashion. It is everything to me.
I’ve been starting most of my mornings working at home with a warm up drawing. And like, what’s more fun to draw than a queen. The make up, the fashion, the hair?? C’mon!
This morning, when I sat down at my computer with my coffee and checked Facebook, I saw the new video by Manila Luzon “Eternal Queen”. Wow. I cried. Ugly cried. One of my favorite things about following Manila is seeing the way she deals with her grief over losing her long time partner, Sahara Davenport. I love that she’s always posting little stories about Sahara, happy memories.
So, needless to say, I was inspired to do this for my warm up this morning.
I’m gonna try to get some work done today, but man… hug your loved ones. Always let them know you love them. <3 It’s important, y’all.
